Important distinction. MY New Internet publishes educational material about VPNs and digital privacy. We are not a VPN service, internet service provider, browser, or network operator. We do not route your internet traffic and cannot see the websites or apps you use through a separately purchased VPN.

01

Scope and our role

This Privacy Policy applies to the pages, forms, and browser-based features on this website (the “Site”). It describes information handled when you browse our articles, interact with our preference controls, or send a message through our contact form. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to MY New Internet Media, the publisher responsible for the Site.

Our content is designed to help readers understand VPN technology, compare privacy approaches, and make better-informed security decisions. Reading a review or following a link does not create a VPN account with us. If you visit or buy from a third-party provider, that provider will process information under its own terms and privacy policy. You should review those documents before creating an account, installing software, or submitting payment details.

This policy does not cover third-party websites, extensions, applications, payment systems, or VPN networks. It also does not promise that any privacy tool will make a person anonymous. Privacy depends on many factors, including device configuration, account activity, browser behavior, provider practices, and the laws that apply where a user is located.

02

Information we may handle

Information you choose to provide

When you use the contact form, we receive the fields you submit, which may include your name, email address, message subject, and message body. Please do not send passwords, VPN credentials, recovery codes, payment card details, government identifiers, medical information, or other highly sensitive material. Our contact form is for general questions about this Site, not for urgent security incidents or support for a third-party VPN product.

Basic technical and usage information

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may automatically receive limited technical data needed to deliver and protect the Site. This can include an IP address, approximate region inferred from that address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, requested URL, timestamps, response status, and diagnostic or security events. Server logs are not the same as a history of traffic sent through a VPN. We do not operate a VPN tunnel and therefore do not collect VPN connection logs, destination browsing logs, DNS requests, or traffic content as a VPN provider might.

If privacy-respecting analytics are enabled, we may receive aggregated measurements such as page views, general device categories, broad referrer information, and interaction counts. We aim to use data that is proportionate to understanding whether our pages work and which guides are useful. We do not intentionally build profiles based on sensitive browsing activity.

Preference information

When you make a cookie choice, change a Site preference, or dismiss a notice, your browser may store that selection so the Site can remember it. Depending on the implementation, the preference may stay only on your device and may not identify you to us.

03

Why we use information

We use information only for legitimate Site operations and the purposes described here. Those purposes may include delivering requested pages, maintaining accessibility and responsive behavior, answering messages, detecting malicious requests, investigating errors, enforcing our Terms, measuring aggregate performance, and improving the clarity or usefulness of our editorial material.

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, our basis depends on the context. We may process a contact message to take steps at your request or pursue our legitimate interest in responding to readers. We may use essential storage to provide a feature you request or keep the Site secure. Where non-essential analytics, advertising technology, or similar storage requires permission, we will seek consent through the available preference notice. You may withdraw that consent for future processing by changing your settings or clearing the relevant browser storage.

We do not sell the content of contact messages. We do not use a contact submission to enroll you in marketing without a clear choice. We also do not ask for payment information on this Site. If our practices materially change, we will update this policy and, where required, provide an additional notice or request fresh consent.

04

Cookies, similar storage, and signals

Cookies are small values that a website can ask a browser to store. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and identifiers associated with embedded services. The Site may use strictly necessary storage for security, navigation, load balancing, form integrity, and remembering your cookie selection. These functions help the Site operate and generally cannot be disabled through our preference tool, although you can configure your browser to block or delete storage.

Optional measurement technologies, if present, should run only in accordance with the choice shown in our cookie notice and applicable law. Blocking cookies can affect preference persistence or parts of the Site, but the core educational articles should remain accessible. Clearing browser data or using a private window may cause the notice to appear again because the previous selection is no longer available.

Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals. Standards and legal requirements for these signals vary. Where a recognized signal creates a legal obligation, we intend to respect it. Regardless of signal support, you can decline optional storage through our notice and can use browser controls to reduce tracking. Embedded third-party content, if introduced, may have its own storage behavior; we will aim to identify such content and avoid loading non-essential components before the required choice.

05

Service providers, links, and transfers

We may use vendors to host the Site, filter spam, secure forms, deliver email, monitor uptime, or provide privacy-conscious analytics. These providers may process limited data on our behalf to perform contracted services. We expect them to apply appropriate safeguards and not use the information for unrelated purposes. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect users or the Site, investigate abuse, or support a business reorganization subject to suitable confidentiality measures.

Our articles link to VPN services, software projects, regulators, research, and other external resources. Opening a link sends a request to the destination, which can receive information such as your IP address and referring data according to your browser settings. Some links may be commercial or affiliate links. If so, we may receive a commission after a qualifying action, but the third party—not this Site—handles its account, billing, software, and network data. Commercial relationships should not alter the privacy protections described in this policy or remove your responsibility to evaluate a provider independently.

Service providers may operate in countries other than your own. When applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we use an available legal mechanism, such as contractual protections, an adequacy decision, or another recognized basis. No transfer mechanism or internet transmission can eliminate every risk.

06

Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to a conversation, maintaining security records, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods vary by category: a routine contact inquiry may be removed after it is no longer useful, while limited server security logs may be kept for a shorter operational period or longer if they contain evidence of abuse. Aggregated or de-identified statistics may be retained when they can no longer reasonably identify a person.

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect Site information, such as access restrictions, software updates, transport encryption where supported by the host, and spam or abuse controls. However, no website, email transmission, or storage system is guaranteed to be completely secure. Email is especially unsuitable for secrets. If you believe information sent to us has been exposed or misused, contact us with enough detail to investigate, but do not include additional sensitive material in the first message.

07

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to personal information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, receive a portable copy, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or appeal a decision. You may also have the right to complain to a local data protection authority. These rights are not absolute; exceptions can apply when information must be retained for security, legal compliance, freedom of expression, or the rights of others.

To make a request, email us using the address below and describe the request and the Site interaction concerned. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to confirm identity and prevent disclosure to the wrong person. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. An authorized agent may submit a request where local law permits, but we may need proof of authority and identity. You can separately manage cookies through the Site notice and your browser settings.

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children below the minimum digital-consent age applicable in their location. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information may contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, remove it.

08

Changes and contact

We may revise this policy to reflect changes to the Site, our vendors, or legal requirements. The “Updated” date at the top shows when this version was last revised. Material changes may also be highlighted on the Site when appropriate. Your continued use after an update is governed by the revised policy, but we will request consent again where the law requires it.

Questions, privacy requests, or concerns about this policy can be sent to [email protected]. Please identify the request as a privacy matter and avoid including credentials or other secrets. We will review legitimate inquiries and aim to respond within the period required by applicable law.
